Here we go Hike #4 on the 52hike challenge and journey to 100. Hike #4 was Family Day here in Ontario,
so it was officially a holiday. The weather that day was cloudy and it was predicted to rain, but we went
hiking anyway and it didn't rain at all! Okay, so we started from our own backyard! Believe it or not it's
just around the corner. The trail name is unknown. I'm just going to call it Westwood Trail for now since
it's around that area.
We started hiking on Imperial Rd S. We got up on the hill before the train track, turned right and followed
the trail, which led us to the tree canopy. My phone says Hewitt lane. We kept going and then on the left
we crossed the train track into the woods. We kept hiking inside the forest. There's a bit of downhill and
the rest of the trail is flat. The trail was icy and had lots of snow on the ground. We went out of the
woods and kept hiking onto the field by the Westwood park, I believe, and ended up at Margaret Greene
Park. We kept going on Westwood and entered another trail into another woods and then we went out
on Fernan Drive and walked back to Imperial Rd S. and home.
Since it was Family Day we went out to get pizza at Pizza Depot and we some ice cream and funnel cake
at Dairy Queen. That sums up our Family Day celebration! We had a great time hiking as a family! Thank
you to my husband and children for the amazing day.
